Big Money Moves in the Startup World: Prosus & Accel Join Hands!

On the Digital India front, the government has taken another fantastic step to make our lives easier. Starting today, October 28, 2025, Indian citizens in the UAE can apply for chip-embedded e-passports. This is part of the new and upgraded Passport Seva Programme (GPSP 2.0). This new system allows for online submission of photos and documents, which will significantly reduce waiting times. The secure chip in the e-passport will also mean faster and smoother immigration clearances globally, bringing our passports up to international standards. A truly digital leap for Indian governance!
Also, in a push for 'Make in India', the Ministry of Electronics and IT has just approved seven major projects for manufacturing electronic components within the country. With a total investment of ₹5,532 crore, these facilities in Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, and Andhra Pradesh will produce critical components like printed circuit boards, which we currently import. This is a huge step towards making India self-reliant in electronics manufacturing.
